Mistakes Made, Lessons Learned

“For [skillful and godly] wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.” (Proverbs 2:10 AMP)

One of the hardest things for us to learn is how not to repeat mistakes and unhealthy behavioral patterns of our past. Despite knowing that certain actions and behavioral problems will yield a particular undesirable result, we are inclined to repeat them. Often this is because our selfishness, stubbornness, or just plain disregard for our behavior affects us and others. However, the scripture above in Proverbs makes clear that the key to changing and not repeating past mistakes is to our allowing (Godly) wisdom to enter our hearts to teach us from the knowledge that we need to change. This requires us to walk closely with God so that His wisdom and guidance will enter our deep inner sole to guide our thoughts and actions in a way that is more pleasing to God.

PRAYER

Father, I bring my repetitive mistake to you and ask that you forgive me for my indiscretions. Help me to learn our word and to stay in constant communication with you so that I can learn how to walk closely with you.  Order and guide my steps Lord to be more conscious of what I do so that I am better able to not repeat past mistakes and unhealthy behavioral patterns that are not pleasing in your eyes. Help me Father to learn from your mistakes and to grow in spiritual maturity, peace, and joy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
