Do Not Worry

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

(Matthew 6:27 AMPC)

We often tell people not to worry, and when we are worried, they tell us the same thing. But not worrying about a problem we cannot solve is not easy. I have realized that the only way we will ever stop worrying is to follow God’s clear instruction to us in Matthew 6:27!

Worry detracts us from living the joy-filled, peaceful life that God has anointed us to live. God desires us to be happy and to focus all of our attention on Him and His goodness; we cannot focus on what God desires for us if we are instead focused on worrying and consuming ourselves with the problems and issues that we confront daily (“in this world, we will have trouble”) God’s peace resides in each of us through the Holy Spirit. Our focus at all times should be on that inner peace that surpasses all  .. including our problems.

We must also come to realize that we cannot change our situation, but God can. So instead of focusing on our problems, take them to God, through prayer and petition, believing that “he is who he says he is and he can do what he says he can do” so that he can work it out for your good. Let us use the energy we spend worrying to trust God and wait on Him because what is impossible with man is possible with God (Luke 18:27).

PRAYER

Father, I bring all of my cares, worries, stresses, problems, obstacles, and any negative thing that is in my life through prayer and petition. I have full faith and trust in God in you, your sovereignty, and your power.  Thank you for always making a way for me and for supplying all of my needs. I don’t want to waste my time worrying but desire to stay focused on you at all times. Help me release my concerns to You so You can take care of them for me. Thank You or merciful Father. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
